The mufflex with a spintech I think will be quieter than the GMMG.

GMMG is a great catback for someone with Manifolds with cats. Unless you want to run a resonator in the I-pipe like some people on the board have done.

wow did you really put gmmg and mufflex in the same category? thats just wrong... gmmg is the best catback for our cars period.

From my understanding they both have their flaws. The Mufflex with the Spintech and dual tips supposedly has a problem with flow, because of the way the muffler is designed. And on the GMMG, not many people like how it sounds the moment you add LTs w/ an ORY. Problem is you'll find more vids of the GMMG, than you will of the Mufflex. Try to find someone in your area so you can hear it in person, before you settle straight on the GMMG. If I still had the stock style Y pipe set-up, I'd get the mufflex then just add a cut-out in the i.

GMMG and Mufflex are too different to compare. Tell us what your goal out of the system is and we can go from there.

Been LSx'less for over a year until I shattered my leg and broke my back when I flipped my gsxr-1000 beginning of November. No choice but to get back into the cages. Wife said no more motorcycle anything. So I will be all over this place again.

I have the Mufflex 4'' system with dual tips and the I like the sound and get alot of complements but the Muffler is heavy and ****! I'm not sure how restrictive it is I plan to dyno cutout open vs closed in the spring.

Here are some inside shots of the muffler

I love my 3.5in mufflex. its a different sounding system imo. Hooker and Mufflex Id say are my 2 fav catbacks.

i have the 4" Mufflex w/ Spintech on mine as well. And like SmokedOutZ28 said, it is a heavy beast of a muffler. But with high flow cats, there isn't even a hint of rasp. GMMG is a nice setup but it's also an extra $250 (for the stainless tipped version) over Mufflex's 4" w/ dual out system. the only downside to Mufflex in my opinion is it's not stainless steel. if i could do it again, i would still pick Mufflex

I went with the Mufflex... Heard the GMMG on a car with LT's and an ORY... had some rasp to it. Then I listened to the Mufflex 4" with the same Headers and ORY and there wasnt any Rasp. I just went with the 3.5" system with the Spintech Muffler. it is pretty damn heavy. I had the LM 1 on it and i just wanted to quiet it down and get rid of the Rasp.
When i had my WS6, I had the bassani on it and it was the best sounding exhaust IMO. Deep throaty sound. Unfortunately Bassani only makes a TD system for our cars now. I wanted to buy the same exact thing for my SS. Thanks for all the help guys.

Dark Juggalo.. hope to see you out and about soon as the weather turns a little nicer her in NC. i make my way down to Charlotte quite a bit. But rarely take my SS down. I was down there this past saturday getting a tune done by Mike.
