Default Can you modify SLP y-pipe to work with long tubes?

I'm thinking I might be able to save the SLP y-pipe I have for the stock manifolds to work with Pacesetter long tubes. Can you cut and hack at the y-pipe to work with the long tubes? I need to weld in new cats, so would it be possible to do all that?

I would recommend just buying a new y-pipe. The amount of time and money wont be worth it.

I don't think $125 for a Pacesetter y-pipe with 2 flat spots plus the price of cats is worth it either hehe

i dont know why eveyone is bashing the pacesetter ypipe?! i think its great, so what it has a really small flat part so it wont cause any knock and u still get clearance, i would get one again....plus the pipe is 3.25 inches, i had a 3 inch pipe, inside dia. fit right in there so im sure that would make up for the little itty bitty flat spot. IMO slp stuff is ****, if u keep that pipe, which i mean u spent the money i would try to keep it if u cant sell it.....then bend it up more. i only have 3.5" of clearance with that POS and now with headers i have 5 and can actually go over speed bumps without having to worry, guess thats why i feel so strong about that little flat spot being worth it haha

Do you have pics of the y-pipe installed on your car? Like a side view to see the clearance?

That's what i'm talking about. I got the slp used from a friend, so it's not like a got duped for a part that gave me nothing. I just figured I might be able to use it.
