Default Finally dumped my Flowmaster

I finally dumped my Flowmaster and replaced it with a Magnaflow crossflow muffler. Can some please tell me if I just hurt my performance......For the life of me, I thought the Flowmaster American Thunder package that I had was a 3" back from the y-pipe into the crossflow then dual 2.5 out the back. I purchased my Magnaflow via online and went with this configuration. Well, when the muffler shop put my car up on the lift, the Flowmaster was in fact 3" in and dual 3" out. Did I just hurt my performance??? I did however get rid of the terrible drone that seemed to resonate between 1000-1500rpm's.
Thanks~

Well, I did go straight to Magnaflow. The site did specify that my replacement muffler to be a 3 in and dual 2.5 out. They also use the same muffler in the cat back system specific for my car.....hmmmmmmm, I guess that flowmaster just offers other configurations for in and out. In the end, the cost was greater then expected due to the custom fabrication needed to adapt my magnaflow and still use the actually decent quality Flowmaster exhaust tips.

I also have dual magnaflows on my 1980 TransAm. They sound quiet and mellow, but at WOT they come alive. However, they are not as loud as the Flowmaster and aggressive sounding as the Flowmaster. I have not driven the 02 camaro long since the Magnaflow switch, but rather form the muffler shop to my work. The car is now much quieter everywhere!!! I did however like the aggressive sound of the Flowmaster, but just NOT the resonating, droning sound.

People kept telling me to remove the Flowmaster and install something less restrictive. Well, I did that and installed the Magnaflow. I immediately noticed that it was quieter and that growling muscle car sound was gone. I did not know what to expect in terms of what sort of power increase if any that I would notice. This is my first LS powered car and the first that I have ever rode in or much less driven. Lucky for me, the previous owner had installed ann LS6 crate motor with JBA headers. When I first purchased the car, every freeway on ramp was a rush that I could only compare to the giant first drop of any major theme parks roller coaster. I have NO idea what the stock LS1 feels like, but in stock form, its 50+ Hp and Tq less then the LS6. Back to the Magnaflow, not knowing what to expect if any, I nailed it from 25mph and it snapped back and roasted the back hides and became violent. I just thought.....GEEEZZZZZZZZZZZ. There was a noticeable increase in power. Maybe for my first major mod, I will remove my JBA shorties and cats and go with some quality LT's and experience a new rush all over again or just be happy with more then enough useable power....lol.....
