Default doing engine swap and need info on different years of ls engines

I am fixing to swap a ls series engine into a mustang coupe. I am looking to buy an engine and was wondering if there is a difference in the year models of the engines? Will certain transmissions not work with certain year engines? I have been looking at a couple of late model 6.0s like came out of 2007 and 2008 trucks. I need to know if there is a certain computer or transmission I would need to make one of these work. Keep in mind this is going into a mustang so I will have to buy a computer and every thing anyway.

Instead of college and books, we should all just wander around asking questions that have already been answered.

Or we could be like you and just post useless crap on other peoples threads. How about a link to these questions that have already been answered?

You search motor swaps and you will ifnd everythign your looking for. And the 6.0's will work.

if i remeber correctly early years of the LQ4 are different on the crank then the 2000+ models. The difference can cause tranny mounting issues

I'm no guru or know it all, but with that said, I'd just buy the motor and tranny as a complete drop out with engine/tranny harness and computer.. Save you the headache of worrying about what you're going to get is going to work or not.. You'll have a stock tune to go off of as well as the computer.. just a thought..
