Few Quick Questions...
Few Quick Questions... Im planning on dropping the motor out of my car at the end of next month and had a couple questions about a few things. Yes, I used the search but didnt have much luck as far as getting straight answers... So...
1. I have had nothing but problems with starters from (Advanced, Autozone, etc.) I need a new starter and I know that buying a GM one is my best bet. Is there anywhere online you can buy these brand new or do i need to go to a dealership?
2. I have a couple chipped teeth on the flexplate so im going to put a new one in also while I have the motor out. Is GM also the best way to go on this?
3. I have had slow oil leaking for awhile and while the motors out I was going to put a pan gasket and rear main in also. Can someone who has changed these maybe give me an idea of what im up against and any tips or tricks that might help. Ive been told the oil pan gaskets have rivots and that the rear seals are a pain? Maybe theres a write-up ot there somewhere???
4. Im also going to be putting headers on real soon and I figured I should probably go ahead and put Poly motor mounts in while the motors out so when I do get them on my y-pipe doesnt bang. Is Spohn the best place to go for these and are there any downfalls to these?
5. Finally, I know to get the motor out you have to unhook the front brake lines from the ABS block and I have heard they are a pain to get bled after its all hooked back up? How do I go about getting this done?
