Default will bigger mufflers hurt performance?

if im currently running a 3" x-pipe to 3" flowtech mufflers dumped at the axle and just changed the muffler to a 3.5" dynatech mufflers would that hurt my torque changing from the smaller to larger muffler size? basically keep eerything the same but run a 3.5-3 inch reducer on the muffler.

All it will do is add cfm and allow more potential power and probably louder. Both are chambered style mufflers and they act more like the open end of an exhaust pipe and the pulse characteristics are unchanged. The proper way to mate the 3 1/2 pipe to 3" is to run the 3" pipe halfway into the inlet of the 3 1/2" muffler inlet. Use an adapter made to slip over both the 3" pipe & the outside diameter of the 3 1/2" inlet and weld it up. Hope this helps.

I think if it did anything it would help, but not any measureable difference...
