Default Tensioner problem

I'm pulling together an LS2 engine for my track car and so far parts have been coming together. The engine is an LS2 out of a Corvette, so I switched the crank shaft pulley to a 99 Firebird type, also got an alternator and power steering from an LS1 also, all from the forum (is this forum great or what???). Anyway, I got what was adverstised as an LS1 waterpump on the forum, but the belt tensioner is about 3/4" short (it looks like it lined up with the Corvette crank shaft pulley. Anyway, my questions:
CAn I just space the tensioner out with a 3/4" spacer to get it to line up with the p/s and alt pulleys or do I have to get another water pump with different mounts? Also this water pump I have has a round nose pulley with a wear track that matched the tensioner, but it looks wide enough to also line up with the LS1 p/s and Alt pulleys. Advice???
