Default RevXtreme Catch Can installation issue

So I got my catch can and started the install today. Are these the new designs of their catch cans? See the pic below. The nipples are on top, where most I have seen it where there is a valve on the side of the catch can.

And since I am doing the breather oil cap on the car, can I do away with the pcv valve also below?

Not w/the RevX can. The center is the inlet. I would get another 90 to put on the center as well and it runs to your tubing from the valve covers (or the valley cover if a LS6/2/3) and the outlet goes to the vac nipple on your intake manifold.

I used the breather with my rev extreme can, until I realized how much unmetered air it was letting in. My fuel trims were all out of whack. I wouldn't recommend it, and don't understand why they don't explain that before selling the parts?
