Default Borlamouth Guys, Come In

Alright, so I have a LM2 system on my car right now and I have the XR1 muffler to swap out the LM2 muffler with, but the XR1 is quite a bit longer than the LM2. How did you guys get it to fit on properly, especially since it's wider also? Did any of you pound the floorboard to get it further away from the driveshaft and so it didn't rattle/vibrate it? A friend and I tried at this for a couple hours and it wasn't working out so we said EFF it. The outlet pipe on the XR1 needs to be expaned also so it can slip over the beginning of the "over axle pipe". I didn't think it was gonna be this big of a PITA. Anyone else have this difficulty, or am I just the lucky one?

Have to have a piece cut out to fit it and then weld it on

A piece of the I-pipe? I don't really wanna have to get it welded on if at all possible, but I'm taking it to an exhaust shop Saturday morning to have them do it since it'd be way easier for them to do it than I. They have a lift and all of the neccessary machines to make everything fit.

Thanks for the input.

I just wish some more guys would be helpful on here. I hate going into a thread about absolutely nothing and finding 100+ posts, but when someone actually needs help, there are few there for them...it's a shame really...

Welding it is the only way it's gonna fit because you have to cut a piece of the I-pipe out. I had it on mine and that's the only way it would fit because it too big to be a direct replacement.
