Personally if I had to pick 2 gauges to get I would select a fuel pressure and oil pressure gauge. Those 2 are much more important than Water temp and a/f ratio. The a/f ratio gauge is a nice piece and reads very accurate....but since it ties into the O2 sensor it is no more accurate than the O2 signal...which we all know is a 'best guess' situation. And while the factory water temp gauge is not very accurate you don't really need to worry about it unless you are overheating.

My advice is to go with the fuel pressure and oil pressure.

I run Phantoms Autometer's in my GN.Electris fuel pressure and oil pressure. Both work good.

On my TA I run Cyberdyne Fuel and Water. They work great and I love the digital readout(easy to read at a glance)The fuel pressure gauge was under $100 with sender!!

The autometer A/F gauge is a complete waste of $$..I run a gauge that reads voltage from www.speedshop.org and it works better.

i would have to agree on the fuel pressure/ oil pressure.stay away from the air/fuel ratio gauge. why not go with a tripple gauge pod cluster and depending on what series of autometers you like go with water temp, oil press, and fuel press. those to me are three very important guages. i like the cobalt c2 gauges. they may be a little more pricey but they look so sweet lit up at night. they have a bright cobalt blue glow and kick a$$. i think this will help ya. www.autometer.com

Get a boost gauge!

Joking aside, I think the carbon fiber gauges would look pretty good.

I'd suggest water temp above all, you stock gauge is a dummy gauge, useless. The A/F gauge is nothing but a light show, but it can show some large differences in the A/F ratio, and it only works at full throttle. I'd go with oil pressure, or tranny temp. I will help you with the install if you get these. If you get water temp, you need the M16x1.5 adapter to put the sender in the block right above the starter, or you can try to get it in the block by the #8 cylinder, but good luck....

A/F ratio....lol, you will find yourself replacing it soon, even if it means buying N20 so you can put in a gauge to replace it

I only know how to install the water temp, A/F ratio, and tranny temp gauges. PM me or e-mail me anytime.

I got the Cobalt gauges... A/F and fuel pressure. The A/F bounces around a lot and the FP gauge just sits at 60psi, so it's rather boreing. lol

Does it matter if your car is M6 or A4? Do the gauges come with install instructions? I've got a 3 pod for my T-top from Autometer. I'm leaning towards the Cobolt ones, but can't decide.
From this post it seems that the most popular are the OIL PRESSURE, FUEL PRESSURE, WATER TEMP, and TRAN TEMP. Something else that someone mentioned to me, a VACCUM GAUGE. Something about it reminds you to let off the gas to help you conserve gas? Any more thoughts on this? Not in a rush to buy/install, just to learn...for now

I have the Cobalt A/F, and water temp. I got the A/F gauge just to get a basic idea of whether I'm running rich or lean at WOT, so it does its job for me, but like i said, I'm not looking for exact #'s. The water temp is cool I guess, it didnt work when i got it, so i had to send it back to get fixed.

So I guess it doesn't matter on A4 or M6? Anyone know what the vaccum gauge does other than what I previously posted?
