Default Exhaust clamp question

Okay, so i just installed some Hooker LT's and I want to clamp on some Dynomax Bullets. I bought some 3" butt joint band clamps to do this but the diameter of the clamps does not fit completely around the inlet for the mufflers. I did a search and everyone says to use 3" clamps for 3" exhaust, but as I said 3" clamps are too small. Can I use 3.5" clamps or will they be too big?

And please no comments such as "just get them welded" or "get a true dual system" or anything like that. I know what I want to do already, I just need help doing it. Thanks.

Are you using slip fit piping? If so, here you go http://store.airflo.com/stse3pr.html
