Default Intake Question

When swapping to the ls6 intake instead of doing the coolant crossover pipe you can just chizzle off the plastic ribs underneath. But... if I were to do the fast 92 intake would I have to use the ls6 crossover pipe? Or can I chizzle the plastic ribs? Or is it even possible to just use the ls1 crossover piping on there? Thanks for any input.

I cut the ribs off my LS6 intake and reused the LS1 coolant lines when I put it on my '00.

Can't help ya on the FAST cause when I put a 90mm FAST on my CETA GM done the coolant lines for me since it is an '02

I used the stock ls1 coolant lines with a fast 92 intake. use a piece of wood and a plastic hammer to carefully bend it down a little bit.

when you hammered it down, did you just bend it straight down or move it at a certain angle? Or will I be able to tell what to do with it once I get the intake on? Thanks

I hammered mine down until it was sitting on the valley cover and then tapped the corner that was hanging off the back of the valley cover down a little more

just tap on it till it is under 1/2".start in the middle and work your way out.you don't need any sharp angles at the corners.

I'll have to look on my laptop. I know I have a pic of my LS1 and LS6 intake side by side and also one with the ribs off the LS6. I don't know if there is one of the coolant lines though. I'll post back whenever I get my laptop out and look

Chip off the ribs and file it smooth if you can. The factory coolant lines will fit. I used a 40 grit tiger disc on a 4 1/2" grinder and it cleaned up real well.

i chipped the ridges in mine bc i heard rumors that changing the coolant pipes wouldnt keep one of the cylinders cool. (cylinder 7 i think)

If this was true GM wouldnt have changed EVERY LS engine to front only crossover and block offs in the rear, like the LS6.
