FYI, I'm not black. Thats a picture I snagged of the net to shut him up. I'm sure he's gone by now.

Buy the Vette from dad? I saw you started fixing it. Ask him if he's interested in buying a Ferrari yet? Just a few years and you can buy it cheaper

Post some pics of it....saw a slight drip from the back of the oil pan, but I put a 10mm to those two bolts and it seemed like they were pretty loose to me the oil pressure sensor is also bad so I am hoping it could be leaking out of that. I didn't do it to the 18 ft lbs because I couldn't gain access to all of the bolts. Exterior besides it being white is in great shape, I did feel near the water pump and it does seem to have coolant coming from it, is there a weep hole? If I can do a manifold do you think I can do a water pump?

You have an interesting choice to make, but the problems with the car are repairable.

First, the oil pan gasket leak. The transmission DOES NOT get removed with this repair. A lot of the front suspension has to come apart but the transmission stays where it is. Here are the GM eSi instructions on replacing the gasket. One important thing to note. A lot of guys do not follow the torque settings as recommended by the service manual. This is very critical in this repair. If you over-torque the bolts, you can crush your new oil pan gasket and cause it to leak again. Of course, you won't realize it until you put all that stuff back together.

The seat issue is a lot simpler. There is a module on the side of the seat (behind the piece that the seat handle comes out of). This module has gotten water in it and it takes forever for it to dry out. He's probably killed a battery with that thing wet and finally disconnected it or pulled the fuse. I an electronics guy so I would just takes it apart and clean it. However, if you replace it, the seat issue will be fixed.

The oil pressure being pegged is a common issue. I posted a write up on how to replace it right here. Get those items fixed and you have yourself a working Corvette.
