thanks haha... yea 150,000 miles it was time anyways... the old ones look pretty flat maybe ill get some pics... putting the headers in tomorrow hopefully anyways... and i really hope the headers fit in.. or may just have a part out and one hell of a headache!

FML!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!! headers still f**Kin hit the steering shaft!!!!! i dont get it and nether do any of my buddies... between us we have 10+ ls based engines! i guess i will be ordering new headers now.. if that dont work i relly dont know what i will do! Any body have any new ideas? please all input welcome

Sorry, I've waited for five years to do that. Seriously though, show us a picture or two and we might be able to help. I hope it works out for you. I'd be on the phone with the header manufacturer.

ok ill get some pics up... sorry.. ive been on the phone a few times they dont know what to tell me... i mean i had these exact headers on my 01 camaro i just dont know what it would be... i will get pics the best i can tomorrow.. thanks for all the help and stay tuned in for updates... thanks again

I don't have any idea how bad it is hitting but if its not much you could dent the primary(s) in just a little to get enough clearance.
I had to do that on my old LT1, and grind the steering shaft a little and sometimes it would still rub.
I didn't have that problem on my LS1 tho.

yes thats what i was going to suggest.
but i wonder what else could it be bent headers?

That's the suggestion I was going to make. The V6 r&p fits in there but the angle is way wrong for header installs. There is another post above this one that dealt with the same issue.
