I missed this one yesterday, that's kinda what I was thinking but why did I have to buy the one that melted, lol. Yeah mostly I just didn't really like how the guy at Prothane wouldn't even remotely admit that it could possibly be their fault, and he never told me my header was too close.

getting a manufacturer to admit their product had a problem is as likely as winning the lottery.

YIKES!!! Now i'll have to go check my prothane motor mounts too.

and OP, just a heads up, Energy Suspension now makes motor mounts for our cars. I was supposed to be the test car, but i was having idling issues while they had it. Oh well. Instead they just poly'd up everything else on my car for free.

Good luck with it, man!

Well I put my solid MMs in the car this evening, really wasn't that bad of a job and I did it on my back in the garage with no air tools. I had to spend a lot of time cutting away the melted mount so I could get the bolts out. I also noticed that I had wire loom just as close to my headers as the mounts and they weren't melted. So I think it was defective. Anyhow, I fired it up and I could feel a difference but i didn't drive it around yet cuz I hadn't put the back tires back on yet. But I'm happy so far.

LOL, yeah sure did, it was early what can I say. Fixed post, but looks like they may have forgot the poly part themselves.
So, this thread has been freaking me out, because I just got my Prothane MM's yesterday. While it sounds like OP got a defective 1 out of a million problem, this is what I received yesterday. I don't see the word "POLYurethane" anywhere. Should I be worried?

(Sorry the images is rotated, my original is normal)

The actual item says "polyurethane" though...

I don't know, lots of people run them with no problems at all. Now that I have solids I like them but I don't know that I'd want them on a daily driver. If I would have gone polys again I would've just used heat wrap on the header and the motor mount and I think it would've been fine.
