Talking headers

hey i have a 2002 ls6 camaro i have the headers to go on the car but i my y pipe is on back on order can i just run open headers or will it hurt the car also i heard rummors that you have to take the motor completly out of the car to do a header job just want to know true or false and some advice on how to do it thanks guys

you don't have to take the whole motor out, i would wait for the y-pipe, open header won't hurt the car but its just way to loud!!!

problems with open headers include killing the O2's and burninng exhaust valves. but your only running for a few days, you will be fine. more than likely after the LT install, you will have O2 problems anyways.
