Default Throttle body question

so i bought a throttle body a while back and i forget what year it was off of, its ported polished, bump stop removed ,half shaft, so when i put it on it gives me car a hanging rev when i rev it and it idles at 2 grand, and i see people saying that 98-99 are different throttle bodys and im wondering if that may be whats wrong as i have a 2000 trans am, is there any way to tell what year its for? thanks

sounds like the blade is partially stuck open. hard to tell without actually seeing it. Could be wrong TB, or could be slightly over ported...or you may have to adjust the linkage on it cable may be to tight leaving it slightly open..

hope you can figure it out! good luck

All good advice! Take the bellow off and manually open it with your hand with the car off and see if it sticks or not. The spring color you can see just by opening the hood.

The difference is the throttle cam. It is designed to open faster on the earlier yrs. It will not give you the issues you are seeing.
