Default PB UD pulley install

I noticed the Powerbond UD pulley is slotted like for a woodruff key, but my stock balancer is not slotted. Is there a difference in the install since its slotted? It didnt say anything about it on the install I was reading but thought I'd ask. Is there a woodruff key on the crank that has to line up with the slot on the pulley? Thanks!

Dont do this. The GM balancer bolt has RTV on the backside of the head. It seals the crank snout off. Only reason you would have a leak is if you were reusing crank bolts.....

Thanks for the answers. I was stressed about seeing that key slot on the new pulley, but not having one on my stock pulley. I bought the longer ARP bolt. I tapped the pulley on with a rubber mallet to get it on far enough to grab some good threads, was that wrong to do that? Like could it cause it to sit un level even after bolt is torqed?

If you have it seated back in it's origanal location, and torqued to the proper specs you are in good shape.

Yes, this is the incorrect way to install the pulley. First of all tapping it directly transmit force to your #3 thrust bearing surfaces which is no good, also gripping a few threads and pulling it on with a bolt slowly degrades the cranks threads. They are not designed to pull a load this way. However, I'm glad it worked out for you. Next time consider a pulley installer, its a beautiful tool with no chance of damaging thrust surfaces or crank threads. If the pulley is all the way on, and the bolt is torqued then everything is well.......for now.
