Default Mac headers and high flow cats

Im about to install this setup with my corsa but my buddy keeps telling me that its not worth it with high flow cats. Is this true???

Mac "high flow" cats absolutely SUCK, some have shown to flow worse than stock. So if you're planning on running these you'll be hurting yourself. However there are brands of high flow cats that flow great and don't rob power. What kind of cats are you going to be running?

i would say go with random tech cats. i've heard good things abotu them. or go with an ory.

I agree.

Usually there is always a way around emissions anyway. I'm not sure what type of testing they have in TX but most states are easy to get around, one way or another...

im going to use carsound cats ...ive heard good things...o and this is on a custom 3 inch y pipe and the mac headers are ported...so what do u guys think? Ive heard great results but i dont know if the results i heard were with cats.

with the ported macs, custom Y and carsound cats you should be fine. im running LT's, custom Y w/ carsound cats and i have no complaints at all.

thanks man i really apreciate that...i was getting worried that my setup was going to suck...what series carsound cats do u have???

94106 2.5" inlet/outlet. if you want 3 " its 94109.

Im running the MAC s with the Random tech 3 inch Mettalic cats. The sound is different but hey, it makes more power!
