ground screws
ground screws On the back of the driver’s side head, there are two ground screws. One has two ground wires and the other has a third. Is there a reason the grounds are separated? I ask because I'm putting things back together and I neglected to connect these grounds before installing the head. The one farthest down is very difficult to get to, but the one on top is easy. Can I put all three grounds on that one screw and be ok?
Yeah I dont know why they do that, If you think about it two are grounded to the head with a bolt and another with a different bolt on the same head..Aluminum is a great conductor so its not like they are gonna be seperate. when I put mine back together I just put them all on the one bolt, Easier and the wires had plenty of slack.
Something to keep in mind, if you put everything back together and go to fire it up and the car won't turn over.....run those three grounds to a different ground. I may be smoking crack, but I did an engine swap and said the same thing...."I should be able to put these 3 wires to the same ground!!" Well the car wouldn't turn over!! Unhooked the 3 wires from the head and extended them so I could ground them to a different place and the car fired right up!! I'm not saying that it WON'T start with them all grounded to the head, just letting you know what I went through! Maybe that will save you some of the hair that I pulled out!!
