Default a couple of intake quesitons....

i did a search and really didnt find what i was looking for. the first question is...im going to be running an sI5 (231/237 595/588 112 or something close to that) patriot stage 2 59cc heads ls6......a4, 373 full bolt ons, yank 4000.....what i was wondering is...1.) ported 92 or stock 102 fast intakes, which one should I go with...looking at both drivability and 1/4 mile times, as well as price....2.) can anyone give me a rough discription of how the two would fare on a dyno sheet, both peak numbers as well as down at 4k. Im going to be buying and intake soon and i was just wondering which one I should be looking at buying. any power loss down at 4k with the 102? idk just any feedback would be great....

they stopped making the 92mm,if you call around you mite find 1 on new.you can get 1 used for $700 or less.the new 102mm will make a little more ,but you can not use ls1 fuel rails on it without a conversion kit. go to Fast web site to learn more.you can run a 92mm TB on the new fast intake.

The 102mm doesn't loose any low end at all. Most people confuse the large size of the throttle body having an affect on low end power, and the 102mm has ZERO to do with it, its not a carb that has to have signal to carry fuel, where too big causes losses. Its a dry manifold that carries air only.

Inside the intake manifold there are runner that lead to the port of the head. These are what determine power output, and are what can be made too big, too small, too long, too short, or just right for your engine.

The throttle body just has to be able to feed the plenum and the eight runners, that's it. It only affects power if it is too small and cant give the engine what its asking for. The throttle body can be 300mm and it wont change power. Think of individual throttle bodies, that's whats inside the FAST intake. It just has a plenum and throttle body controlling the air.

I personally had the 92mm and now have the 102mm version. FAST says its worth 3-5hp over the old 92mm, the dyno results Ive seen posted here seem to show about 5-10rwhp. Another point, you don't have to run a 102mm TB on your 102mm intake. I run a 90mm on mine.

Its up to you which to run. I found this, it will show you what parts you need for the 102mm.
