Default Plug question...

What plugs do I need to order.

I was told TR5's gapped at 32-35 by my tuner

they sell TR55's gapped at 60, would I want to gap the TR55's down to .035?

or TR6's gapped at 35ish, but those seem to be for high power applications.

My car is barely modded, CAI, Cat-back, tune. 98 LS1

Help!

Most do TR55's at either .060 or .055.

I dunno why your tuner likes such a small gap, but I have run TR55s at .050, .055, and .060 with zero issues running either of them.

Your tuner is a dummy.

You need to buy NGK TR5's or TR55's. Those two plugs are 100% identical, they just come gapped differently from the manufacturer. The TR55's are becoming harder to find, so just get the TR5's if they are available.

Gap them to .050, that is perfect for a stock LS1, to my 427ci, all the way up to a 650 RWHP N/A engine.

.32-35 gaps are for nitrous motors.
