Default o2 sensor problems with LTs'

I installed Pacesetter LTs and OR-Y about three weeks ago then had the car tuned to have the rear 02 sensors turned off, etc.

Last week the SES light came on with error codes showing insufficient activity and teh diagnostic computer showing the sensors voltage at a steady 148. After clearing the codes, it showed the voltage switching between something like 148 - 800, IIRC, and everything went fine for a week now the light is back on.

I did a search on the forums regarding the problem and after reading through some of the results I'm unsure as to whether or not I should buy some new Denso's, since the majority says they work best, or do something different.
The folks who tuned it said that it was fairly common to have to replace them after installing headers but I would like a second/third opinion.

Thanks in advance for any help you can supply.

Is the question worded poorly or did I answer my own question and not realize it?

The long tubes make the o2's lazy so slow switching codes are somewhat normal which would be p1133 and or p1153 anything other than that for the front o2's isnt normal for lt's and should be replaced. What codes wasit throwing? Sometimes the o2's are just old and putting the lt's in them just throws everything down hill for the o2's.

Denso's are an O2 sensor brand, and SES light is "Service Engine Soon".

The codes are P1133 and P1153. The folks who tuned the car RPM - NC told me that whenever that happens on cars they are doing modifications to that they always replace them with the Bosch13111s and have no problems with the sensors after replacing them. I'm not so sure whether to use teh bosch ones or not since so many people here have reported having problems with them.

I'm assuming that if they are not functioning correctly then the A/F mix on the car will not be correct. Is that the case?

I have the same prob. I put LT's and ORY on my car recently, and had a friend use HP Tuners to tune it. It ran great for a day, then the ses came on. p1133 and p1153. O2's. So i swapped out the 02's with some good ones that were lying around, and it ran fine for 3 days, now the same codes popped up. I don't wanna buy new ones if i'm just gonna have the same prob over and over. My friend tuned the sensors out, but is there a solution to this?

Eastside used LS1-Edit and edited mine so it wouldn't throw a code 2 years ago after the header install.
Passes emissions with flying colors.

You can also replace the 2 rear O2 sensors with 02 sims.

I'm not worried about passing emissions, i just want the car to run it's best. I see that ses light come on and my heart drops. Does the 02's throwing codes affect the performance of the car? As in, if my friend were to turn off the codes so that they don't appear ever again, will it run the same?

if its the rear o2's then no the car will not run different it is just there to tell you that your cats are doing their job so if you dont have the 02's back there it thinks its ******* up. now if your front o2's are messing up that light should flash at you and you will notice the car almost kinda misfiring and just running like ****. hope that helps.

No, i have LT's. There for i just have one set of 02's. The light comes on and p1133 and p1153 codes pop up. I've read that this is a common problem because the of the sensors not being able to heat up correctly.

The o2's on a stock exhaust are used to sitting closer to the engine. The bosch's that were mentioned earlier are corvette plugs that sat a bit further away from the engine. Try 'em and see if that helps.

I had a few problems with mine when i first installed longtubes, mainly from me putting leaded race fuel in (stupid i know but it was the woodward dream cruise and i like the smell)

Anyway long story short, i installed the corvette bosches, and a year later i havent had a single problem.
