Bear with me I'm still learning about these parts... I have been looking into getting a new intake manifold for my car so I am woundering if there is any perticular I.M. that I should invest in or if a Intake Manifold is a intake manifold and it doesnt matter what i should get... ive checked into get a LS6 IM but if there is somthing better that adds more power for the same price what is it... and are they worth the money they want for them... do they do anything else other then add HP to your car? Sorry may be dumb questions but im just trying to learn... appreciate any help. Thanks Late.

Currently the LS6 is the intake manifold to get...

For twice as much you can get the LSX intake, if you are in no hurry you may want to wait and see what kind of gains people get over the LS1/LS6 intakes.

LS6 intake is a fairly expensive mod considering the amount of power it offers. I'd wait until you get some more mods on your car before you get one. That way the LS6 manifold might actually seem worth it. I have a cam and still don't even plan on getting an LS6 intake anytime soon. There aren't that many intakes for LS1's/

-LS1 Manifold
-LS6 Manifold
-Holly/Lingenfelter Aluminum Manifold
-FAST LSX Manifold
-Sheet Metal Intake

ls6 intake. the new lsx numbers should be out soon if you want to wait. personally on a lightly bolted on car the ls6 intake cant beat beat. but seeing as how you have an ls1 intake still the lsx might be the way to go. wait and see for the numbers.

seeing as how you pretty much have no engine mods start with:

lid
catback (dump the flowmaster)
headers
pulley
ported TB
ect.

but before anything get a new TC seeing as how your an a4, single best mod you can do. look into the 3k-4k range.

Yes, you need to be able to get the air out of the car if you are going to put more in. Like jrp said, headers, catback, maybe a cutout, lid, ported TB, then you can get the intake. Might even get a cam first, depending on your future plans of your car...
