Default LS6 PCV conversion worth it?

I'm going to be installing a LS6 intake on my Camaro in a week or so and I was thinking about doing the LS6 PCV conversion and I was wondering if it was worth the extra work/money?

yea, its under $100 and is proven to cut down on oil consumption. While some ppl will argue that it doesn't, its a much better design than the LS1 and it has cut down on mine. Prior to the conversion, my intake would always have a coat of oil in it, now its dry.

It allows you to remove the F-body PCV plastic plumbing which over time deteriorates and may crack.

Buy the 2004 valley plate which doesn't need an external PCV valve... you need a short length of hose to connect it to the intake manifold.

Leave the throttle body hose that goes to the passenger side valve cover.

Block off the holes on the rear of the valve covers.

There is a write-up on ls1howto.com and yea, but the +04 valley cover. I do not have the pn with me, but if you do a search, you should be able to find it easy. The one listed on ls1howto is the older valley cover pn.

I upgraded to the LS6 Valley Cover and also added a Catch Can when I installed my LS6 Intake.

My car didn't use any oil (or very little) prior to the upgrade and I didn't find any pooling in the intake when I removed it. But I'm one of those guys that likes to do it right the first time. And I consider it sort of "an ounce of prevention..." if you get my drift.

I used the ls1howto.com writeup and the installation went off without a hitch.

Although it is a bit nerve-racking while you're cutting into your block, but its not tough.

I say go for it. Good luck.

Having done it to a ton of cars I can honestly say it's not worth it on a 98-02 car. Just run a catch can and breather with your factory PCV system and it'll perform the same (and better) function.

Running a breather helps.

I have a catch-can, and plan to do the upgrade, if for nothing else than to eliminate the routing of the pcv lines around the rear of the motor.
