Default What temp thermostat?

What temp thermostat is everyone running? What t-stat do you think would be good for the mods in my sig? I'm stock stat right now and was thinking on going to a 165. The gauge in the car says I am always running just under 210.

Listen to this. I just told someone else no more than 2 hours ago that you need to keep your car in the optimal operating temperatures for it to be more efficient. This counts for power and fuel economy. Get your fans tuned to come on sooner if its gonna bother you though, or get a manual fan switch, or both.

What if your running a ram air and its heating the engine up more? I would think a 160 would be a good idea along with tuning fans to come on early.

Either way no one can totaly answer this question. No one REALLY knows

Its going to say that in a 99-02 because its a dummy gauge.

98 it read according to temp.
99-02 they changed it to read around 210 for anything in between 180-226 then after 226 it will start to go up and show overheating.

The F-Body has a dedicated water temperature gauge. Originally it was implemented with a dual output electric temperature sender that supplied separate temperature signals to the PCM and the instrument cluster. But starting in 1999, Chevrolet changed to a single output sender that only sends the temperature to the PCM; the instrument cluster receives its version of engine water temperature via serial data from the PCM. Some aspect of this new setup causes the temperature gauge to read 210° F for the entire 180-226° F range. It's effectively an idiot light.
