Default Borlamouth clearance question...

Now before the mods move this I am asking specifically T/A owners which is why this is posted here.

Now does anymore run the Borla XR1 muffler period. I have one in place of the resonator on my Loudmouth 1 setup. But as far as clearance goes the rear hangs down and hits the ground all the time. It probally hangs 1.5-2in below the bottom of the frame and an exhaust shop told me "thats the way it will have to be". Im going to pickup the SLP Y-pipe because they didnt support my stock one and it hangs down on the drivers side. So when I take it to a new shop im going to have them try to get it higher, but was wondering if im not the only one with this setup having a problem.

The underside of the vehicle is the same on all 98-02 Camaros & Firebirds. Your issue wouldn't be because it's a Trans Am.

I did the Borlamouth on my old '98 Trans Am. It does hang low. The XR-1 is just a large muffler. We had mine tucked up pretty good and it never hit anything but it did hang quite low...

I had the XR1 on my LM1 setup(under rear seats) on my 1995 Camaro and it was low, but tucked up enough to clear most everything.

A 4" round magnaflow muffler would give a little more room.

How does the borlamouth sound?

had the same problem here, tried to get it tucked in pretty far but was still a little too low for me, I changed my entire setup and now have an ory with gmmg catback and an electric cutout thrown in between, now your talking about an awesome sounding exhaust, gmmg

I used to have it on mine and it worked fine with no clearance issues
