FRA appears to work I know this is a dyno proven mod but one I hadn't done yet. I was rather dissappointed with my dyno results after installing headers but realize that a freer flowing exhaust is useless without a good flowing intake. I really hadn't done anything on the intake side besides the lid and the egr mod (done when I installed the headers) and had heard that cutting out the airbox yeilds honest gains. The way I see it, if this mod generally gives 10 rwhp on a stock car, it should provide me a larger gain because it then becomes even more of a restriction after my current mods. I was bored one weekend and...well...got to hacking up the airbox. It really was an easy mod to do and only took me a few minutes using a hacksaw and box cutter. After reinstalling the lid, I took the car for a run. It's really amazing how much of a difference it feels like it made. Of course seat of the pants isn't a good guage of performance but the car definitely feels a bit quicker. Couple that with this frigid air we're getting, the car is much more amusing on the street now.
