Solid Motor Mounts How hard is it? Im purchasing lt headers and soilid motor mounts in about two weeks and how hard is it to put in solid MM. I have a shop with a lift already and i do not plan on taking the engine out of the car.
How do you swap to Soilid MM?

Installing solid motor mounts is easier to install than regular mounts imo. You don't have the extra pedestal to play with. Unbolt the ac condenser/condenser pulley bracket and push them off to the side. Completely remove the alternator. Remove the whole exhaust/exhaust manifolds. Remove stock motor mounts. Bolt solid motor mounts onto kmember. drop engine slightly until you can slightly screw in all 8 bolts (4 on each MM) that connect to the motor from both motor mounts. Keep dropping the motor very slightly, and tightened the 8 bolts. Keep doing this until the motor is completely tightened onto the motor mounts. This seems to remove the anger and frustration most people seem to have with aligning the motor mounts. I didn't once use a pry bar to align the motor using this method.
I originally tried the method of lightly screwing one side down, then trying the other, but didn't really work for me. It's better to do both simultaneously. There's a good writeup on the polys somewhere around here. Just modify it for solid motor mounts.
