Default vacuum leak...cracked intake??

my '98 LS1 is idling high and throwing a check engine light, codes p0171 and p0174, which tells me it's running lean. so i automatically check to see if there's a vacuum leak, and where i find it is coming from is around the EGR tube, where it bolts into the intake. are these areas prone to cracking, or is it the tube?? anyone else experience similar issues??
