Are the 243 heads used on 5.3s any different than the ones used on the 5.7s?

You mean the L33? No, head casting numbers are unique, a 243 head is a 243 head. The only difference their would possibly be is whether or not it has the lighter sodium filled intake vales or not. But for most people, it doesn't matter at all.

Thanks I got a 5.3 out a trail blazer and it has the 243 heads so i was going to use them on my 6.0. I may be getting another set also so i just wanted to make sure they are the same.

Someone must have changed heads on the 5.3. I dont believe they ever came on a 5.3.

I was just told they did come on some 5.3 engines.

the 799's came on the L33, its the same as a 243, just doesnt have the sodium filled valves and i beleive it has a smaller chamber like all the other 5.3 heads.
