Y Pipe Worth It?

Y Pipe Worth It? I am running stock exhaust manifolds with cats and going to install a GMMG cat back on a 2002 Firehawk. Is a new y pipe worth buying or can I stick with the stock y pipe with the right bank flat? I am not going to mod the engine.

The stocker is just fine for stock exhaust manifolds. People have dyoed with aftermarket Ys and get 0 HP.
BTW, the flat side flows just as well as the round side. It has the same internal area despite the shape. It looks funny but it works.

For me it was a good choice. I am not going to modify my engine as well when it comes to that. I just put on a SLP y-pipe on my 2002 Firehawk. It made my Magnaflow
exhaust deeper.
So, your GMMG will become deeper and have a more musclecar sound. I love the sound despite the +/- hp gain. It is up to you.

I talked to Matt at GMMG and he said they found maybe a 1 HP increase with an aftermarket y-pipe, after hearing that I decided to leave the stock y-pipe on.
