injecters?

runnig the 243 heads and a 228r cam. would upgrading the injecters be any better gain? I know i would have to tune it.

That is a question for your tuner. Chances are with heads and cam you are going to be over 100% DC on the stockers anyway. But you dont want a set that will just hose down the cylinders. Not really an upgrade that is going to "add power" just a saftey precaution you will want to take with more power. You add more air, and you are going to need more fuel kind of concept.

Moving to External from Internal III.

Yup, a datalogger will tell you if you need them or not. Its not something for power. With your mods I doubt youll need them, but then again we can only speculate. You need a datalog, its the only way to get an accurate answer......

Stockers are 27# right?

Z28/2002 07-21-2010 03:16 PM

Stock injectors on a 2002 car are 28.8s

Injectors!!

my DC with stock 241s and a similar cam was at 98%. I went with 42$ INJECTORS and now my DC is 54%

CajunZ28 07-22-2010 04:58 AM

But on 243s and the 228r cam, 42# should be fine tho? I just want to get closer to 450whp if i can on this set up.

Injectors are not going to add HP.. All bigger injectors will do is lower your DC (DUTY CYCLE) so they are not always spraying

Gotcha, i just thought mor fuel+air= HP. But i am not getting more air with out FI. and i am not going that route on my DD with 70k miles on the clock. will wait for a rebuild, then smash the bank vault and go all out. the Fbody dream ya know! but thanks for the help. i will get with my tuner and check on the DC numbers! Great info man!!

If you change injectors you will have to edit the injector tables in the calibration.

Somewhere between the SVO red tops or green tops would work well for you. Id recommend in the green top area, injectors in that area will allow you room to grow if you add heads.

i have a very similar set up and i'm using 30lb SVO red tops. they work great for me. made 400 to the tires. GL man.
