ac shuts off at idle?

I have a suburban with a 5.3 in it that will shut the ac off if we sit at a light too long when it is hot out. My 02camaro doesn't do this.

I was just talking to one of my buddies at work and his Tahoe with a 5.3 does the same thing, if you sit and idle for say 5 min when it is 100 out than the AC will go from nice and cold to not blowing cold at all, then if you take off and drive somewhere it gets cold again.

Anyone ever heard of this?

Does anyone know a fix for this?

You could be low on freon or the low pressure switch might be bad. First thing is to put a set of gauges on it and see what your pressures are.

OK will do, it just seems like a electrical switching issue since the vehicle gets cold again once you start driving again.
