squeaking noise from engine

squeaking noise from engine Starting yesterday I've been getting a squeaking/bird chirping noise under the hood of my '99 Z28 (no actual birds - I checked 
. The noise is there at idle (can't hear it off idle - engine might be drowning it out tho). Listening to the idling engine it sounds like it might either be the water pump or the power steering...? The power steering was a tiny bit low but filling to spec didn't change the noise. Car has ~50K miles. The car has a power steering cooler but has been on the same PS fluid and engine coolant for years.
Any advice? Any easy way I can test the accessories or narrow it down?

As MM98 said the is a bulliten out on it. If you would like let me know I have the number written down . You could do what I did and spray a little WD-40 or some lube on it. If it stops then you know thats it. I had that same chirp.

So last night I pulled the belt and fiddled with all the pulleys. Everything seemed ok except for some squeaking from the alternator pulley. I was pretty surprised at that... As I needed the car to get to work today I just put the belt back on thinking I'd buy/order an alternator today but now the noise is gone! :-/
I don't really wanna drop $100-$200 on an alternator without this really being an issue... Maybe it's just the belt that was making noise (the belt is pretty chipped and cracked) and I put it on backwards so now it's quiet? D'oh!

sorry to revive a really old thread but i have a similar problem, except mine is high pitched and constant, i dunno if you guys's "chirp" is the same deal. And mine gets worse when the car's hotter and with higher RPMS.
