squeaking noise from engine
. The noise is there at idle (can't hear it off idle - engine might be drowning it out tho). Listening to the idling engine it sounds like it might either be the water pump or the power steering...? The power steering was a tiny bit low but filling to spec didn't change the noise. Car has ~50K miles. The car has a power steering cooler but has been on the same PS fluid and engine coolant for years.Any advice? Any easy way I can test the accessories or narrow it down?
Thanks!!
I don't really wanna drop $100-$200 on an alternator without this really being an issue... Maybe it's just the belt that was making noise (the belt is pretty chipped and cracked) and I put it on backwards so now it's quiet? D'oh!
