Question FAST 92 vs LS1

Hey all! I just bought a FAST 92/92 setup and currently I just have stock LS1 intake and TB. I was jw how much power I should expect to see from the swap. Also does anyone know how this will help me at the strip? My current mods are below thanks all!

Hooker LT's
ORY
SLP LM1
Few BMR suspension upgrades w/ Bilstein shocks
All free mods
Lid w/ K&N Filter

Car is a 2000 SLP SS Camaro

right at 20rwhp would be my guess with your mods

with a cam might be worth another 5-10rwhp depending on cam choice and rpm range

Sounds about right. Maybe 10-15 whp with a cam since he had an LS1 rather than an LS6 intake. Odd that you bought the FAST before a cam though it's usually the other way around. Get one

I only got around 25rwhp tuned from mine with some porting over a ls1, but my reverse split cam might have been helping make up for the **** intake too

don't worry about gains, the FAST just flows so much nicer than a crap stocker. the mid range gains and *** dyno is where it counts.

and i agree, get a cam! cam + FAST = the secks.

I was happy with the gains, I just wasn't happy my cammed car still didn't break 350rwhp with it and a good tune (ls1 intake choking above 5600rpm and mail order tune were my last straws for finding power in the setup I'm running). I don't think my goal of 370+RWHP unlocked is that out of line for the cam size, full bolt ons, and FAST setup on a dynojet.

Intake was $550 with stock rails and injectors I resold, tb was $150 used IIRC and was a FAST brand POS that I had to grind on to keep from sticking. I wouldn't buy a new FAST for a stock cube car...too expensive. At the time I bought mine intakes were selling used for $750+ so I thought it was a steal and couldn't resist. Had to paint it though, the gray plastic looks like ****. Can of satin black and a white paint pen made it a sexy piece though.

I ported the runner walls enough to remove the wedges and blended them and cleaned up all casting flash inside the intake.

I felt an increase in throttle response, but no noticeable power gains until above 4000rpm. I was literally pissed and frowning on my first drive after fighting the intake and tb 3-4 hours to get it on and not hanging. Finally went wot and felt a wave of disappointment....until the tach swept over 4...then the pull was more than noticeable and I got a **** eating grin

my buddy was riding and he even noticed not only the difference but also where it started

The FAST outshines the ls6 over 5500RPMs... Before that they are pretty equal. You definitely won't lose anything.

For the money, the FAST is a great mod.. Especially with a cam car that spin over 5500RPMs (all of us).

I have right at 1300$ in my ported 102mm intake/PTM 92mm TB.. I bought the intake brand new and had it ported (plus I had to pay tax since I bought in state).
I am hoping to pick up right around 25-30Rwhp give or take over my ls6 intake/tb setup. There isn't a whole lot more I can upgrade/add in my setup to pick up any more power... Electric water pump is about it for adding things.. I still have the MAF and lid to upgrade and then a custom ram air.. After that I will go to a nice set of mamofied AFRs. My combo is pretty well balance, I should still be able to hit some high 1.4X short times on motor with the new intake.. I'm just looking to gain 2-3mph which would bring my ET down .1-.2. For the money, AWESOME! IMO.

I did not lose any low end or mid range...and it gained some...just not much. The BIG gains were 4k rpm up.

Contrary to what a lot of people might say this intake does not HURT your low-mid power. It just gives a huge improvement in upper power. Throttle response was much better too.

That is what you are paying for!

I didn't buy one to help out my 60' or 330... I bought it to help pull me on the big end, that is what I needed since my cam is on the smaller side.
