Default Backfiring Issue (2002 Z28)

Since I've picked up my '02 ls1, I've noticed some backfiring issues and I'm not really sure if this is normal or what....

It's usually on a higher rev right when the rpm drop during a shift. Also, it will sometimes backfire on a cold start. I have a long tubes, no cats, true duals, and a diablo tune.

I've heard that this is sometimes normal on the '02's, but I'm not entirely sure. Does anyone have any experience with this same problem? What would usually cause this to happen?

i dont think it is really ever normal for a car to backfire, try unloading the diablo tune and see if that effects it.

Mine does it, worse when cold, on backing off & after hard full Throttle and back off, it will back fire due to over run of unburnt fuel & open 3.5" exhaust

Do you have an exhaust leak near the manifold?

I have thrown an 02 sensor code when i first got the code, but the code went away after clearing it with the diablo tuner. Do you think an 02 problem might be the reason for the backfire issue even though I'm not throwing any codes?

Are you plugs/wires due for a change? Try NOID testing your injectors -- I had a problem on my old 3.4L Camaro where an injector was intermittent electrically, and then failed and I had the backfires during that scenario... Any codes?

I have no codes as of now, they went away even though I never changed the O2's (which is why the codes were being thrown). Could I have fouled out the plugs or injectors by driving while these codes were being thrown?

My car has only 9000 miles so this is the only thing I can think of....

My 02 backfires as well. It's not that bad though just sounds like bad rasp, I never thought anything of it.
