Exclamation Random Tech Cats & Y-Pipe

This week my buddy i had the fun project of installing my hooker shorties, random tech cats and y-pipe, and loudmouth exhaust. Well first ofcourse was the headers. After a couple hours and some struggle my buddy got them in. Since evrything else was bolt-on the rest shouldnt take anymore than an hour. Well the driver side cat when in fine. The passenger side cat was another story. The way the cat is shaped there isnt much room to be able to bolt it to the headers, much less tighten the bolt. Well after we got a couple bloody nuckles we just pulled it out to try and figure a way to do it. My friend decided to beat the edges in (the edges were the reason there wasnt much space) till we can fit a bolt through and be able to tighten it. Well it worked we beat 2 of the edges to a small U shape. Well the cats are done the y-pipe should be easy. nope. We bolted one side and the other was about 1 1/2" to the left of where the driver side cat was. Well we tried to push it to place. didn't work. There was no way we could bend it so we decide to take it to a muffler shop. I drove my car a couple mile with the headers and cats to the shop. They cut the 1 1/2" and welded it to place. Since i was already there i just had them weld the loudmouth too. So if your thinking about getting random tech cats and y-pipe be prepared for what happend to me.
The 2 pics are of where they cut and welded the y-pipe. I couldnt get any good pic of the cats today so i will try and post those tomorrow. The only good thing that came out of this is......... my car sounds badass now

the better question should be why it took you several hours too install shorties , it dont get any easier then that.

get some dyno numbers when you can, very interested to see what you put down with the shorties and tr224.

The passenger side header is a bitch to put on. There is barely any room. And it was only 2 not several........ I going to get my car dyno tuned pretty soon, its in need of one.

Thats pretty much what i wanted, to be smog legal. I didnt want to deal with switching things in and out when it was time for smog. Dont really have the time, or the sources for that type of stuff at all times.
But ill be sure to post my numbers when i do get it dynoed
