Default Motor Mounts

has anyone done motor mounts with the headers in?

I fucked up and put the headers and ory in and should have done the mounts but didnt. LIttle vibration against the floors.

So can it be done?

Has anyone done it?

A friend and I were in the middle of an LT install on his 98 Z28, when I realized NOW would be the best time to do the Motor Mounts.

We had the LTs on, but didn't have the Y-pipe or any of the remaining exhaust under the car. So we decided to attempt the Motor Mount installation with them in place.

We managed to get the passenger side mount out without removing the header, but no matter what we tried, there was no way to get the drivers mount out with the header in place. So we did end up removing it, in order to get the mount in place.

The next LT Install I was part of was on my 99 Firebird. I performed the Motor Mount install with both manifolds/headers out of the car. While still a PITA, but I would say the installation went much smoother with the exhaust completely out of the way.

I'd recommend removing both headers.

No, but when we were reinstalling the Long Bolts thru both the Motor Mount and the Pedestal, I got the passenger bolt in place and then loosened the four bolts holding the driver side pedestal to the K-member.

This gave us a little more play to get the holes lined up on the mount and pedestal.
