2000-2002 y pipe on 98 Is there really a difference from a 98 to a 00-02 on the slp 2 1/2 inch y pipe and if so what needs to be cut and welded to make it fit correctly?

you need to use the 00-02 manifolds and cats to make it work. the manifolds are the better part from the 00-02 cars, the Y pipe should be the same.
The 98-99 cars have the passenger side cat on the Y pipe, the 00-02 cars have both cats on the manifolds.
