Default Headers/info

Ok, I want a good set of LT headers that run cool. I've looked at jet hot headers and I like them a lot. Heard great things about them!!! The clearance issue is a big question to me, will they hit bumps. I wanted to get SLP's first of all, but heard bad things about them, ground clearance and pricing especially. Jet Hot runs Hooker and Mac, right? They will coat other headers also, right? Then there is the Y-pipe issue, heard that many people have a hard time with fittings. Help me out guys, I'm in need!!!

There are others out there too Kooks, Flp, etc....

I currently have the SLPs...IMO, the fit is awesome, the appearance is awesome, the performance is middle-of-the-road, the ground clearance is simply terrible. I scrape in and out of my driveway unless I go at an extreme angle and, no matter what angle I take, I drag over all speed bumps (2 just to get out of my plan). FWIW, I just picked up a set of Kooks to replace them...

I've had my FLPs for over two years now and have had no problems except for that the header fits really close to the oil drain plug. As far as clearance goes I've never had any problems. The only real complaint I have concerns the small Y-pipe. Nevertheless I'd buy them again, but I know that I wouldn't buy SLP or MAC headers. Believe me, MAC headers are a nightmare to install!Hooker headers are a good header with a low price, but they have been known to sometimes have slag left behind on the welds. But what the hell, I'm going to buy a set for my wife's SS

I have pacesetters and am very pleased with them. Their Y pipe, on the other hand, is junk. Get duals or have a Y pipe made.
