Default 160 t-stat ?

Ok i have a 01 Z28 and my wife bought me a 160t-stat I am going to be putting it in tuesday after work. I was wondering if it will due much for me right away or do I have to get a tuner to notice anything like when you set it to turn the fans on earier?

Someone told me I wont notice the temp being lower till I get a tuner, and then i been told I will notice a lil drop in the temp so i am just a lil confused.

Thanks in advance for any input.

i just put one on my 2002 z28. there is not really any difference in temperature. after i got my fan to turn on sooner i did notice the difference. SLP makes that fan switch that you can manually turn your fan on high low and off. if you use that you will see the difference aswell.
Hope this helps

The t stat will open 30f sooner. 160 vs 190stat. But you need a tune to have the fans come on sooner. I believe its 210 for stock.
