Will gear swaps.... Throw your actual mileage off on your odometer if the computer is not corrected? If so by how much? I swapped from 3.23s to 3.73s when I bought the car in 2005. It had 78k and now i just broke 150k even. The computer was not adjusted for the gear swap until the odometer read 148k. What should my actual mileage be?
since the speedo/odometer sensor is located in the tranny tailshaft housing,it was showing/indicating more speed and more distance than actual.
148,000-78,000=70,000
70,000 x .866 =60,620
78,000 + 60,620 + 2,000 = 140,620
70,000 was the uncorrected mileage
3.23 / 3.73 = .87
70,000 x .87 = corrected mileage
3.73 / 3.23 = 1.15
70,000 / 1.15 = corrected mileage
either version gives the same result
