Gen IV to Gen III help
So I blow my 6.0L LY6(58x) this weekend, #7 has only 70psi of compression. I find a deal on a LQ9 408(24x) Gen III, my car is a 99 so I already did the conversion to Gen IV. So, I've a couple of question about returning to Gen III.
Can I reuse my LS2 timing cover with 2X gear with front cam sensor?
Can I use my LS3 valley cover with pcv system if I relocate the knock sensor on the side of the Gen 3 block.
Can I use my LY6 crank sensor on my Gen 3 block or it cannot read on a 24x wheel?
Thanks!

Well maybe you could but the gen IV valley cover will not physically mate to a gen III block.... I know you can run an LS6 PCV system with it... I had to get a gen IV valley cover when the LS2 was swapped into my car in addition to TC cover and cam position sensor extension and knock sensor extensions.......

I have all extention harness for gen 4, so if I use a 2X cam gear, I dont why it shouldn't work.
For the valley cover, I'm more concern about the 11 holes cover versus 10 holes gen 3, and I need to plug the cam sensor hole on the block.
I supposed crank and cam sensor signal change according to the reading on the wheel or gear.
But i'm not sure... on gen 4 forum, someone answer Yes on all my question..
