water pump..?

a year and 3 months since i bought my 98 Z28 and now its making a noise like a pully is rattling or shaking.. i removed the belt and rotated all the pullies it seems that the water pump is going bad. also my low coolant light it lit i dont know if it has anything to do with it..anyway its not leaking yet but its a good idea to replace it and play safe. my question is will LS6 water pump fit my LS1? any benifts? i heard its lighter and will fit no problem. just wanted to be sure on what to get, any advices or comments are welcomed

Maybe just replace the water pump pulley?

WP pulley is not a user replaceable item on LS1......ask me how i know

Not trying to be sarcastic it all, or doubting you. I just wonder why companies sell pullies for them if they are not replaceable.

Edit: Ah I looked up a pic of a stock LS1 water pump, i don't see the bolt holes like the Edelbrock one.. Makes no sense..
