Intake/Exhaust Discussion
Im in the process of building a 408 iron block motor that i plan to spray the crap out of, probably 300+ DP, should start making good power at 4k+ and peak around 6200-6400. Will probably have a 3600-4000 stall. Currenly i have a H/C setup making around 550 at the wheels on spray with MAC Midlengths w/2.5" true duals and my stock LS1 Intake, TB, MAF, and as LS1 Motorsports Lid.
Currenly im considering the follow for my new setup.
Custom Sheetmetal Intake (Im getting an awesome deal on it, cant really pass it up unless you all think it would actually make less power than an LS6/LSX intake)
Kooks 1 7/8x2 inch w/3.5 inch collectors. Then run 3.5" true duals w/bullets and turndowns.
Im still up in the air on the MAF im going to use, opinions appreciated. I was thinking about making my own custom air intake. Was going to make a Y similar to the Incon TT Air intake with a conical filter on each end (opinions?)
I just would like to get some feedback on what you guys recomend and if im heading in the right direction. Any help is greatly appreciated.
I dont know much about sheet metal intakes but I would think it would be overkill on a basic H/C setup and probably not worth the money, but I would say wait a little longer if you can for more results from the LSX intakes.
