Default PCV replacement question

I recently bought a 99 Formula with a TON of miles on it. Doing an LS6 intake swap, and found that the stock PCV hose is melted on the drivers side where the tube goes from 1 tube to 2 tubes. My question is, could I just replace that entire hos with 1 peice of 3/8 tubing, or do I have to spend the $119 to buy one from GM? As long as I have vacuum I should be good right?

dont buy the one from GM. go to auto zone or wherever, buys ome connectors and a "T" and piece it back together with all new hose. I did this last year, no issues at all. Remeber to replace the PCV while you are at it.

I know this is an old thread, but can someone go into a little more detail on how to do all of this...

if you take your stock system out, you will see that it is a combination of hard and soft lines. If yours breaks, or i should say when, the dealer will want to charge you crazy money for the replacement parts. Just go to auto zone or the like, get the same diameter hose as what you have stock, and route your own lines following your stock setup as a guide.
