Default boost or spray

i have tried to search this using the search tab. but nothing came up.

i am undecided if i should do a heads+cam+spray to get 600hp on a stock ls1.

or should i just do a turbo kit with cam head bolts and gasket...

im leaning towards the h/c spray idea.

whats the most reliable of the 2.

For that price, spray might be the only way. I am building a VERY budget minded front mount setup, and scavenging low price used parts where I can. I still have almost $4000 into it so far, and I'm not quite done yet.

i can do a turbo setup for a about 3k. i can get a turbo for cheap and stuff like that.

i was just thinking with the head cam spray setup i can beat on the car all week n/a and spray on the weekends when we go out and do our highway runs. i get nitrous between 3-4 bucks a lbs

and if i boosted it. i would be in boost 7 days a week.

Bingo. I just don't see how 3 grand will get you a reliable turbo setup. Spray seems to be a better alternative, at least for your current budget.

If for $2000, you could repeat this same result with your LS platform, then it shouldn't even be a question.

thats a 1jz that came turbo so its gonna be more reliable than turboing a lsx that came na, plus 1jz are the baby 2jz so they can hold up to 1000 hp... i have one of those in my third gen supra too! btw what tranny were you using when you were eating one up every month?

but back to subject i would also agree on the h/c setup with a 200 shot on a progressive controller

spray it. ls1s are high compression and love nitrous. Then you can shut it off on the street.

ya i made near 600 and trans was basicly yelling during a pull. turned it down to 477 and a trans would last about a month.

i shattered one while brake boosting.
