How much of a difference if any?

Default How much of a difference if any?

Finish Line Product 3" to 2 1/2" off-road pipes and cats built to a 2 1/2" x-pipe and true dual system vs. completely rebuilding it with 3" off-road pipes and cats to a 3" x-pipe stepped down to a 2 1/2" true dual system? Would there be any difference in sound or power? Would the 1st system be too restrictive? Is it worth building all the way from the header collect rather than the ends of the off-road pipes or cats? Let me know what you think. Thanks a lot.

I cant see a difference of more than a few hp. Both go down to the same size at different times and both have duels at the end.The first one may have alittle more TQ at low rpm and the 2nd alittle more hp up high. Over all it should=out in excelleration.

i ahd the same question last week, and i asked for opinions on here, everyone told me with stock cubes to just get 2.5. They where right, it makes great power and sounds killer.

Thanks for the replies. Another thing I wanted to point out...if I ever did more cubes on my car or put down some serious power, the way I want to build my exhaust (fully flanged) I could later take out my FLP cats and off-road pipes, unbolt the x-pipe, and then build it from the collectors to the 2 pipes that go over the axle. They will have flanges at the end so all I would have to do is bolt it back up.

Also, people rememeber that the first system has cats and the second does not. Have you all taken that into consideration? I ask because I am curious and have a similar setup...
