Default pacesetter qyestion / new LS1

Hey folks.

I have a WS6 with pacesetter longtubes - y-pipe, no cats - into a stock muffler.

I didn't choose this set-up - it's what came with the car.

The Y-pipe under the drivers side is literally sitting tightly against the the floorboard. It rattles (obviously).
I am willing to spend the money to do this right.
I have motor mounts installed already. The problem appears to be the y-pipe - as it's directly on the floorboard touching. the drivers side also has a mark on the floor board where it's touched.

My question is this:

I want LT's that DO NOT TOUCH the floorboards. Was this an installation issue? Or a pacesetter fit issue?

Will other long tubes still give me this problem?

And lastly - the Y-PIPE hanger.. good results?

Thanks for reading.

I'd say it was an installation error. I have Pacesetter longtubes... actually, the exact same setup you have including the off road y going into a stock muffler. I didn't install all this, but I've been under there and the pipes are not touching the floors at all. I just looked at a photo I took of the underside, and it seems that to keep the Y from touching what it shouldn't, they installed it a bit cockeyed into the collector, angled down a bit and welded it all up.

I'll put up a few pictures of the underside to show you how it's setup. Maybe you can use these to get it fixed correctly. Sometimes people need to be creative to get things done correctly as it appears a bit of thought went into keeping the Y from smacking anything. Be warned, these pictures are quite large in size.

I agree with him.
OP-Is your tunnel brace on the car? Is it is you might wanna take it off and refit the y pipe so it hangs a little lower. Thats what I ended up having to do.

WOW.

Installed MUCH nicer on yours.

Mine wasn't even welded. Clamps were used.

Thanks for that. I am going to have these things re-installed and fitted welded properly.

Dont weld your exhaust your going to regret it later when you need repairs and its all welded. Do what you want but you will regret welding
